Taking Own Scooter

Hi All Has anybody taken their own electric scooter to Orlando? Flying Icelandair in March next year. What kind of experience did you have at the airport? Is it worth the extra hassle?

Thanks

I have been taking my own scooter for years using Virgin, BA and American Airlines so far. Virgin have been by far the most helpful, we usually scoot right to the plane door and they bring the scooter to the plane door to meet us when we land. Has been fantastic and saves so much money on scooter hire fees.

We usually check it in and get labels etc at check in when we use Virgin but they let us scoot to the gate. If the airline do insist you check scooter in at check in they should then provide you with wheelchair assistance to get to the gate. Sorry but I don' have any experience of Icelandair.

Where do you pick up your scooter when you arrive at MCO? Really getting stressed about this. Any info would be welcomed.

Hi, we have usually had to wait to be the last to disembark plane and then scooter was brought up to the door of the plane for us.

I always have done this. We fly with virgin and I take my scooter to the plane door. Then at the other end we are usually last off, but then I get my scooter from the plane door and have it with me the whole time in the airport
