Brilliant assistance at Manchester this morning
Currently at Manchester Airport and service we have had this morning for our daughter with autism has been amazing, we arrived at 5.45am to massive queues but because lilly was wearing her sunflower lanyard a member of staff spotted it whilst we were in queue and opened all barriers and took us straight to a checkin desk, we were told somebody would greet us at the gate when it was time to board, and fast track security they put us on the priority line, we were sat in frankie and Bennys at 6.10am, so it's nice to relax now and settle our daughter. Just thought I'd share our experience this morning with special adsistance, we've always appreciated the hemp offered for people with hidden disabilities but this morning the airport went above and beyond x

Thank you so much for this post, we fly in a couple of weeks and I'm petrified for my little one, who's 5. He was only diagnosed in April and we're still getting used to helping him manage it. Can I ask where you go for the lanyard please? xx

Two adult members of our family struggle with anxiety particularly is busy places such as airports. They both had the lanyards from Manchester Airport and we were very impressed how the staff all recognised them and fast tracked the whole family without any fuss or drawing attention to them.
When we reached Orlando airport, again staff greeted us and we went through the fast track for immigration. On our return home, again we had priority check in and boarding. Very impressed!

Hi,
I was just coming on here to post the same thing. We flew to Paris from Manchester Airport with Easy Jet. My daughter has autism and we haven't flown since she was 3 years old. She is 11 years old now. The staff and Manchester Airport and for Easyjet were absolutely wonderful and could not do enough for us. They were kind, caring and completely seemed to appreciate how hard it was for her to handle and for the rest of us. I would whole heartedly recommend them any time at all. Also, the Youtube vids for Manchester Terminals Autism Guides were great as well. They really helped DD get a sense for what to expect. We never actually made it into the parks because DD had a massive meltdown on the bus the day we were going. We ended up getting off at the next hotel and walking back to ours once DD had calmed down. It just shows what a difference autism awareness and understanding can make to a family.
