V&A (Victoria & Albert) Chefs Table (normal and gluten free menus)
I know when we were looking for information there are not too many threads on this - we were fortunate enough to get the reservation for the Chefs Table on our trip (we also renewed our wedding vows earlier that day) - we have eaten at V&A before in the Queen Victoria Room a few years back but eating in the kitchen itself is a vastly different experience.
We were greeted by everyone with a warm welcome, including the chefs who all spoke to us on arrival (not something we had expected). We had 2 staff waiting on us throughout the evening (one for food and the other for wine) - one had a wine pairing, the other remained on cocktails. We were able to stand (there is a waist height barrier separating the kitchen from the dining table) and chat to the chefs if we wished during the evening. We were there for the whole evening service - 5.30 to around 10ish! The Head Chef chatted with us several times during the evening and nothing was too much trouble. Formal dress is expected - there is a 'stool' for your bag and a cashmere wrap is available should you become cold... Each menu is tailored due to dietary or other restrictions as below and the food was totally amazing - its obviously not a 'cheap' meal but nothing else has ever compared to it for us - its was an amazing experience we both thoroughly enjoyed :-) Menu 1 - no shellfish or offal Menu 2 - Gluten free (due to coeliac disease) Course 1 - both - Delta Asparagus with Imperial Caviar, Avocado & Lime Mango (side view) Course 1 top view Course 2 - normal bread Course 2 - GF Salt - a range of salt to flavour the butters during the bread courses Course 3 - not on the menu - billini with caviar Course 3 - not on the menu - GF alternative base bilini with caviar Course 4 - normal - Ahi tuna with sun kissed melons and pink peppercorn yogurt Course 4 - GF - Alaskan king crag with sun kissed melons and pink peppercorn yogurt Course 5 - Maine halibut with poppy seed and lemon Course 6 - Dover sole with tomato water and petite squashes Course 7 - not on menu - lamb on potoato with a potato crips on top - yes the clear thing is also potato! Course 8 - normal bread Course 8 - GF bread roll Course 9 - Roasted french quail with corn pudding and spinach Course 10 - Kurobuta pork belly with pineapple and peanuts Course 11 - normal bread Course 11 - GF bread Course 12 - Australian kobe-style beef with potato pinwheel and Miyazaki japanese beef (miyazki was a supplement option but we were given this) Course 13 - cheese board (GF version was adapted) Course 14 - Bittersweet choclate dome on praline crunch Course 14 - GF - as above without the praline crunch Course 15 - not on menu - a banana desert Course 15 - GF - not on menu - creme brulee Followed by Tea Coffee Chocolates - we took those away with us - with the normal courses, plus the extra courses they chose off menu for us to try we were both struggling ... OP. I really am lost for words - unusually!
The food looks amazing and the presentation out of this world. No wonder they get such high accolades. Excellent pictures by the way.

looks a stunning meal, one for the bucket list, thankls for the photos. I can imagine avoiding the bread is a necessary survival technique

We’re just watching a Tim tracker video of them eating here and I was just about to search on here to see if anyone had a report on it before I realised yours was here without me having to search! They’re just on the tomato water one on the video 😂
