Mickey and Minnie’s runaway train

Just caught an update on this forthcoming attraction on You Tube. As dibbers may know this is the replacement for the Great Movie Ride at Hollywood Studios. My understanding was that it was due to open around May 2019. It now appears that it will now be “ fall” 2019. This mean it’s opening would be around the same time as Galaxys Edge which does seem a bit odd given the crowds that will be descending on HS at that time. As we will be there in Sept 2019 I am not sure if we will get to ride it and I guess it depends on what Disney mean by “ fall”. This is accurate information as it came from a presentation by a Disney top bod.

We moved our holiday forward to avoid GE but did expect to be able to go on the train so looks like we might be disappointed.

I was hoping it would have been open for our trip in July but saw that it had slipped. Disappointed.

Until this weekend, Disney have never stated when this ride was going to open other than sometime in 2019. One website rumoured it was going to open in May 2019 but it was just a rumour. So, technically, it hasn't slipped.

An opening date of "Fall 2019" indicates that it's going to open slightly before Galaxy's Edge opens (which is "Late Fall 2019"). In theory, Fall covers anywhere from early September to the middle of December. I'd guess Sept/Oct for this and Nov/Dec for Galaxy's Edge, so it's possible it might be open when you go.

Really disappointed to hear the delayed opening for Runaway Train because as much as I am looking forward to GE, it will mean this park is going to be absolutely crazy busy!
