August bank holiday vs Easter bank holiday
August for 3 nights is coming up ALOT cheaper than Easter weekend but after googling people are saying the queues ruin it and they wouldn’t ever go back in August.
We are travelling with 2 x 5 year old boys and plan to stay at Santa Fe or one of the other budget Disney hotels. Will Easter be any quieter and do the EMH make a difference for rides to suit their ages? Help! |

We have done both and I'd personally choose August over Easter if I went again for the below reasons:
1. Weather - (generally) the weather is more favourable in August than April 2. Longer Park Hours - In August the parks are open until 11pm everyday, this allows so much time to see everything and not feel like you're having to rush around. 3. Less Closures - again generally speaking as August is classed as peak season there will be less scheduled ride closures in this month. That can make a real difference to the queues. As your boys are 5 you will get a lot out of doing EMT in both parks so I would really recommend doing this every morning. |

August can be bakingly hot in Paris. It is also traditionally when everyone goes on holiday, many of them to DLP!
However, by the end of August it might not be so bad. The Spanish are off till mid September though. We went early Sep last year and were surprised how busy it was. May half term is apparently OK most years, but next year Ascension Day falls on the Thursday - it’s a public holiday. Avoid weekends whenever you go!

We haven't done Easter but we were there the Sunday and Monday of the August bank holiday. We chose then because it was cheaper than May half term and as I'm a teacher we're restricted to school holidays. It was much busier than May but the weather wasn't particularly hot apart from one day. I think the Tuesday was the busiest day. It was boiling hot and as a result, all the locals came. The studios park was heaving. The following day, the Wednesday was really quiet because it rained all day. Basically I'm saying the weather plays a huge part in how busy it is. I hope that helps.
