We loved it. There were several room options and next time we'd choose a different one. We are 2A 2K, boy 12 girl 9. They had to share a double bed which didn't go down well but we had a room with direct pool access so worth it. Some have bunks and some are two level with single bed, sofa plus a separate bedroom.

The beach was great for snorkeling or 10 minutes walk or free bus to a sandy one. On main road between Bridgetown to the left and St Lawrence Gap or Oistens to the right.


We saw a turtle laying eggs and the locals releasing baby turtles. DS wants to go back next year.

Plus we used departure beach on the last day which felt like it extended the holiday too

I read about the departure beach what a great idea. What about places to visit still trying to convince DH.

We loved it. Went to:

Oistins Friday night fish fry - street food, craft stalks, street entertainment and music. We left about 9 because it was really busy with kids. As adults would have stayed much longer.

Horse racing - across from hotel. Watched from road for free for few hours. Locals selling beer for few dollars.

Garrison House & changing of guard - again across from hotel, free. Kids enjoyed it.

George Washington house was nearby but we didn't go.

Reggie bus into Bridgetown. Shipping and food.

Lots of walks, beach by Hilton, or to Carlisle Bay. Lots of water sports. We hired jet skis.

Free hotel bus to Pebbles beach. This link looks to be down today but we used to check out the weather/see the beach iwcpinc/portfolio/

Hotel do free bus to St Lawrence Gap on a Saturday night but we missed it.

Best ever was turtle cruise on Calabaza. Free food, drink, snorkeling with turtles on boat wrecks then a cruise down west coast for lunch. Only 12 people on boat. 3 staff. Separate boys/girls toilets. All spotlessly clean and only about $25 each more than the normal ones with 50 people. Felt spoilt for the day.

I am not sure if I mentioned it but check they have sorted the sewage problem on the South Coast before you book

DH seems to be warming to Barbados for next years holiday 😊😊. Never stayed AI before but looking at the option, what are eating and drinking out like in comparison. All so unfamiliar so out of my comfort zone.

We did a trip to Barbados a few years ago - I did a trip report which is in my signature. We stayed at the Hilton and did a mix of meals at the hotel and at a few places on the island 😀

We did all inclusive at Almond Beach but it’s shut now. Regarding comfort zone , I’d say it’s easier than Florida to enjoy. The locals generally are friendly.

We were all inclusive too. We are out at Oistins for the experience. It was cheap considering it was basically street food.

Savannah Beach has 3 restaurants so plenty of choice.
