Mobile Temp in january

I was out in January this year and going next month.

I hated the temperature, particularly in the morning - frozen windscreen in Florida

Does anyone with experience be able to tell me if this year was unusually cold?

We went the end of January / start of February this year and had really nice weather in the low 20’s. We’re going back at the same time next year and are hoping to be lucky with the weather again, but I’m taking clothes for all weathers.

January is completely unpredictable.

Average temps are in the "pleasantly warm" range.

You might be lucky and have an unseasonably warm month with daytime temps around 80F but you might be unlucky and have mainly 65F with frosty mornings.

This year early Jan was quite cold but late Jan through most of Feb it was really very warm. I'd just pack for all eventualities.

We've had mixed temps in January.
When it's been warm it's been pleasantly warm, like our summer, and this suits me perfectly, hardly any rain and hardly any humidity either.
We've always managed a water park day, or two, in January though.
When it's been cold it has ranged from chilly , needing a light hoody, to needing a thicker hoody and putting the hood UP!
(Seen it so cold that I've seen them wrapping hanging baskets in fleece to protect from frosts, and one time in Universal I remember we were freezing shivering and queuing up for hot chocolate after hot chocolate and squeezing into the shops for warmth.)

The answer is to wear layers Pack a range of clothing.
and regards water parks or swimming just be prepared to change your schedule about.

We were there through Christmas and new year last year.

Christmas was pleasant and we had a lovely walk on Christmas morning.

A cold front pushed down the east coast coming up to new year and there was the first snow for many years in north Florida.

As others have said this year was unusually cold.

It’s difficult to predict in the winter months, it’s a bit nippy at the moment but equally there can be nice warm days

January can often have frost but it’s unusual in Feb
