Off site hotels: Anyone find them sterile?

anyone else think this?

none of them have any character.

Stayed at magic circus, dream circus and Kyriad over the years.

They all seem sterile and cold.

Just big properties to accommodate lots of people.

Pretty much, they're just a means to an end if I needed to stick to a tight budget when we had AP's. Much prefer staying on-site, preferably Sequoia or Newport.

I think everyone should work out the actual cost of staying onsite with the half board deal and compare it to off-site and paying cash for meals and tickets, I think a lot of the time there's not much in it really.

We tend to stay at Hotel L‘Elysee in Val D’Europe when we stay off site. It is similar to a Premier Inn. We are onsite people really but accept that when we stay off site it will not be the be the same. As Ben 1993 says do the maths, staying on site may be better value.
