BA Flight Cancellation - Change of plans

Hi, new member here!

We were lucky to bag some dirt cheap flights back in October flying from MAN-LHR-LGW-MCO return for August next year for 10 days - 2 adults, 2 children.

We got an email last night saying the return flight from Heathrow to Manchester was canceled and we could log on to change our flight. We did that and noticed we were able to change the entire flights so we chose to stay for another three nights, adding a day earlier and two days at the end.

My question is because we have a booking direct with Disney can we extend our stay and still get the Disney dining extended even though the offer has finished?

we have amended our booking twice now for next august disney charged us £50 each time waiving any other costs which was really good of them, they honoured the free dining for us too, best thing to do is give them a ring

Thanks for the reply, I just wanted to be armed with the info before I called in case they told me it wasn't possible.

Ive given them a call and they have added the extra dates and just charged us for the extra nights and the additional cost for the extra days upgraded dining plan.

We have been numerous times but either Jan/Feb or early May. What are the crowds like late August?

We did this for our trip in 2017. Booked for 19 nights when free Dining available, but then when flights came out they were the same price to go for 21 nights so we extended the stay by 2 nights and had free dining for all 21.

It all depends on their being room availability and there is only a charge if the price goes down.

We did last 3 weeks of August last year. I would say second to last week was slightly busier than May and last week was similar to May and noticeably quieter than the first week we were there.

Im happy with that. It's the first time we have had to do the school holidays and we were worried about crowd levels and the temperature for the kids but now were staying longer we can fit more pool time in.

OP we’re also affected next April and September by BA’s flight cancellations for our LHR/MAN final leg. Do you mind me asking what flight/routing you’ve opted for I.e. another indirect, or a direct flight and what (if any) additional cost you may have to pay? Were you able to make all changes to your flights online or did you have to call BA? We have flydrives booked so would also (potentially) need to make changes to our car hire. Just trying to work out what alternatives we want before I contact BA.
