The Retail and the Leisure/ Restaurant Park was packed out, town was empty. Quite sad really.

Meadowhall was rammed today so I dread to think what it will be like over the weekend . The supermarkets will be manic next weekend and Armageddon set in as the shops shut for a whole day. I shudder how much food will be thrown away when foodbanks are desperate for food.

The shops may be shut for only 24 hours but the buses in my area won't be running for longer than that. I can't manage a 6 mile walk both ways to my nearest town so am making the most of the buses running and stocking up. That way I won't have to go out when the buses aren't running. I don't like shopping on line for food - I like to see exactly what I'm getting.

We went to Cribbs Causeway Mall today - went for opening at 9am - not many people there at all til lunchtime, when we were done and tootling off home. Don't know if it was the weather, the internet or what, but it was definitely not the usual pre-Xmas Saturday scrum.

We were at Aldi at 8.30 this morning and it was surprisingly quiet. Unfortunately I’ve still got to go back next week, I bet it will be a different story then!

I remember when finding a space at Tesco this time of year used to be impossible. Used to be rubbish when I worked there as would drive round and round, hoping I wouldn't be late for work! But at our local, it's not really been like that since the recession. Still busy but not like it used to be!

Went to the Town Center on Wednesday, expecting it to be rammed and it was dead.

I managed to park OK but not in my usual space. A lot of the interlopers seemed to have trouble fitting between the white lines too.

I work in a supermarket and the last 2 days have been so busy.
I’m off now until Wednesday when I start at 6 am and I’m planning to go a bit earlier to make sure I can get a parking space.
Not looking forward to the next week with people having tantrums because we’ve sold out of tubs of chocolates which have been on sale since August.
On the upside I only have 4 more shifts and then I’m off for 4 days
