Dog anxiety
Has anyone ever been given something from the vets to calm a dog down?
As Tilly is getting older she is getting worse ! It’s currently thundering and she is shaking and panting violently! i have her curled up at my side with a blanket round her to calm her down, its not working but at least it has stopped the pacing. Every time there are fireworks or bad weather she is the same. She is booked in for her boosters in July so I am going to ask then. Just wondering if anyone has been given something in the past x |

I haven’t but I have read about plug ins that supposedly help with anxiety in dogs. You could look at that in the meantime maybe?

The vet prescribed our dog tranquillisers to calm her down which we gave her over firework night etc, and although they calmed her down, she did act a bit weird on them. She is now deaf, so she doesn't hear them which is a blessing.

Have a look at these - we've used similar for cats and they have helped petsathome/shop/en/p...E&gclsrc=aw.ds

Tilly is loosing her eyesight so I think her hearing is more sensitive. Since her eyes started to go her noise anxiety has got worse. Or it could just be age.
She has never liked fireworks and thunder but she is 10 times worse now and its very worrisome. I am actually concerned she will have a heart attack she is that bad |

Rang the vets. She is a bit old for sedatives but they will check her over at her appointment in july and assess the situation. They recommend same as you guys really. Plug in & thunder jacket
£60 lighter but hopefully a happier, calmer pooch |

Excuse the messy room, we are in y sons gaming room but she is finally settled.
That was such a stressful few hours! I was in a panic and honestly thought she was going to have a heart attack! |
