When I’ve contacted virgin recently on WhatsApp, they can either respond within the hour or it’s days later but yes they can do the same things as anybody who answers the phone.

Finally got sorted. Probably the most convoluted change to a booking I've ever done and managed to do it all over live chat! Got to say that the agent I spoke to was outstanding. Managed to cancel our two separate flights of UC outgoing and PE coming back. Changed it to a return flight (1 day earlier each way) and in the process saved a couple of hundred quid and nearly 100,000 miles! Just now waiting on the refund for the original taxes (gulp) and the companion voucher to return to my account. Think the poor chap spent nearly 90 minutes online with me but he said he really enjoyed sorting out such a complicated case at least!

Apparently there is a 24 hour delay on the text service I would try calling. The numbers are manned till 11pm so maybe worth trying later in the evening good luck

Does the 50% apply to points upgrades too?

Looking to all the Dibbers to see if I am mad... (no crystal balls needed).

We want to go to Orlando next November, 2 x UC, (our usual time) but the flights are not available yet. I am considering booking 2 of the £999 fares for July, then once November flights come out and I find decent prices (I know they won't be £999 as the BF sale will have finished), use the free change. VA say they will cover up to £350 of the change as part of the Flexible no change fee policy.

So the way I see it, if I book in this sale and then change dates, I would get 2 x £350 off the Nov price when they are released - if that makes sense.

Or am I missing something here? Quite likely...

Sorry that wouldn’t work, what virgin mean is there is no change fee but you would pay the difference in the new fare.

I understand that I will have to pay the difference, but what I meant was, would it be the difference minus the £350 that they state in their policy?

I think it is too good to be true, so I must be wrong

i read it that you have to pay the difference depending on the price difference.

So if the difference in UC was £500 then you pay £150 as £350 is covered.

that's how I read it, which is great. It seems worth the risk as I can change dates - ideally I would love to go before Nov, so it could be a win/ win...
