Any tips for sleeping?!

A few days ago I came down with what I thought was covid. It’s not, but I’m still unwell with headaches, aches, blocked nose/dry nose etc.

The other issue is sleep! Since the 27th I haven’t fallen asleep before 4am. I’m tired, I could have easily had a nap on the sofa this afternoon but I didn’t so that I would sleep and it’s still not working.

Windows are open, fan is on, I’m not hungry or thirsty, I’m not consciously worrying about anything more than normal.

I’m so tired!

What about trying a audio book? Find it helps for me, I’ve got a sound a sleep pillow which I play the audio books through. I’m going through a medical menopause so my sleep is all over the place, sometimes I get less than an a hour a night! There are also various nighttime tea bags which I think help a bit. It’s so horrible not being able to get to sleep

That’s something I’ve not tried. I’ve tried mindfulness, that doesn’t work.

I’ll see if there’s an app or something I can get a free trial for an audiobook. No chance of it waking OH up, he’s dead to the world

The whole mindfulness doesn’t work for me either!
I think audible do a free trial, if not try BBC iPlayer or even YouTube. A lot depends on who’s narrating the books, Stephen Fry is good.
My hubby only has to look at a pillow and he’s asleep!
I’ve had various different sleep tablets from the doctor but nothing has worked but I do think Kalms nighttime help a bit so they might be worth a try.

Kalms don’t work for me, I had sleeping tablets from the gp and none of them work either. I always used to go through stages, but this one combined with feeling horrible is really starting to wind me up. Which makes it worse!

I’m just downloading audible now so hopefully they might have a trial xx

The Harry Potter books are good, so fingers crossed.

There really is nothing worse than not being able to sleep when everyone else is in the land on nod!

I found the Kalms worked a little. My husband gets sleep aid tables from Walmart that completely knock him out, he’s 6’5 and 18 plus stone and I’m 5’3 and 11 stone and they do ≈≈≈≈≈≈ all for me, it’s just not fair😢

Lavender pillow spray also might be worth a try xx

They don’t seem to have a trail but I can’t even work out how to sign up 😂.

I’ll order some pillow spray I think. I’ve always had a terrible sleeping pattern due to work, working all hours with no routine does that, but I think this is related to whatever bug/virus this is.

Hope you find something that helps. I'm the opposite and will fall asleep within seconds but actually staying asleep is the problem!
