Dining at the O2 - updated

There was a thread which I cannot find now about places to eat at the O2. It’s been 7 years since I’ve been there but we’re going to see Peter Kay in a few weeks and I’m not sure if we should eat there or possibly Stratford before the show. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks.

I would definitely recommend booking somewhere as event nights there are long queues (if you go peak time). Last time I was there in August I went to Banana Tree just outside the o2 a lot more relaxed and online booking. Do not recommend TGI Fridays as long queues even if booked. Maybe try Zizzi or Slug and Lettuce or Gordon Ramsay burger place?

Thank you - I will definitely try and book something. I probably wouldn’t ever go back to a TGIs even if it were empty! 😉 I’ll look at the other ones you mentioned and see what I can get.

When we have been to events at the O2 we eat around Covent Garden area then just hop on the Uber Clipper at Embankment and go straight down to the O2. Its really fun to do it at night and its never been that busy.

Thanks however we are coming up from Essex and we will stay at Canning Town. If we were staying “in town”, that would definitely be an option.

Update: we went to see Peter Kay last night and I can thoroughly recommend the Premier Inn Canning Town. Possibly one of the better ones as they do vary. A couple of minutes walk to the Jubilee line and only one stop for the O2. We booked a table at Gordon Ramsay Street Burger and we really liked it. We also really enjoyed Peter Kay and despite having bought the tickets two years ago, we had a great time and my jaws are still aching from laughing so much 😅
