Landline
As we never use our landline we have decided to get an internet service without a phone .
I have been looking for a PAYG sim card to put in an old mobile for emergency calls during the night as we turn our mobiles off but cant seem to find one . Does anyone have any options from landlines |

Why not just put your phone on do not disturb mode and allow certain numbers to be able to ring?

We ditched our landline years ago.
We pop our phones on do not disturb which does not interfere with alarms set.

I also put my phone on do not disturb overnight, but I have it set to still allow calls from my dad, daughter and husband still.

Similar here... my phone is set to Do Not Disturb overnight. But I have all incoming phone calls allowed, and messages from my 'favourites' (kids, husband, mum...). Way easier than remembering to keep an old mobile phone charged! I'd probably forget where I'd put it 🙈😂

Got rid of my landlines when we moved. Realised we answered it abiut 3 times in the 4 years we lived in our previous home. So no point paying.
Phone on do not disturb overnight. And tbh no real advantage to a landlines now as all being switched to Internet calling so internet dependant Edited at 10:28 PM. |

I have sky broadband and get my landline free. You can put your own phone on do not disturb and allow certain numbers as everyone has said but something to think about if any happens with family through the night they may not call on the number you have saved as favourite. A lady I work with done this with her phone and there was accident with her daughter but her daughter was able to tell her mothers mobile number to someone who stopped to help so the call never went through as it was an unrecognised number and it was a while before she got to hospital as police had to go to the door.
