Getting Excited

Am cancelling Disney

So I have a week booked next year. Just to say I go every year for one to two weeks that's how much I loved the place. So next year is booked to take advantage of the dining plan. Or should I say was booked. I am cancelling. Why? Because the dining plan has changed from what it used to be and you now get far less. But mainly because of the introduction of Premium access passes. They have done away with DAS (yes I know this was controversial) because people complained about the number of people using and abusing it. This should make it fairer for all especially families, yes? No! Because now they have introduced a rich people's benefit on top of the already expensive park tickets. It was bad enough with the new lightening lane which is too expensive for most families. Now if you are staying in Deluxe accommodation you can buy a premium pass which is even more expensive. Too rich for my blood and it feels like 1st, 2nd and 3rd class access with me in steerage. So after my holiday next week that's it for me and am off to Universal. Bye Mickey nice k owing you

I have to say I can’t blame you. We have stopped going because of our experience last Xmas.

Think I’m the only one excited about going next year!😆
To be fair, we don’t go regularly it’s only our 5th time since 2008 & although a lot has changed we really won’t miss things as much as regulars will as we haven’t been since 2017, it feels like our first time all over again!

Obviously you have to do what’s right for you but honestly this new pass doesn’t bother me in the slightest. If it was the only way to reduce waits I would be livid but it’s not so I can live with it.

Nope I’m on my 39th trip next year and still as excited , it’s what you make it , it’s not just about the rides , or the deluxe hotels , you can stay In a value resort ride a couple of rides a day , eat a qs meal and still have just as much fun
It’s who you’re with and the memories you make ( well it is in our house)

Don't necessarily disagree with your point of view but slightly confused by a couple of your points, first you say done away with das but it hasn't been it's just modified and also you say the dining plan is worth far less, as far as im aware you've only lost one snack credit (down from 2 to 1) which is maybe a little annoying but hardly a deal breaker !

We probably won't do Disney next year either. If anything, it will be a day at Epcot as its my dad's favorite park.

I won't qualify for the disability pass anymore since the changes, and can't manage much without it at Disney.

At Universal we already have annual passes valid until next July.

With Universals evidence based disability system, I qualified for the guest assistance pass (GAP) which is unlimited express pass for myself and family.
