I'm not sure why people would stop visiting Disney because of the new Premier Passes. They are optional things, that are priced in such a way that only a very small people will be expected to buy them. They aren't required to enjoy oneself at the Disney parks. It's not like, I dunno, the cost to eat at CRT or to stay at the deluxe villas puts people off visiting the parks - most people just choose not to do those other, expensive, optional things that Disney does.

And as long as a few people buy these premier passes then I can't see why Disney wouldn't keep selling them. It's not like there are any ongoing manufacturing costs or anything like that. I guess if they sell less than Disney wants or expects, then they might reduce the price or something to encourage a few more sales (= more profit).

I do agree that the general increases in ticket prices might put people off. And the reduction in onsite perks might put people off from staying onsite. It's a juggling act Disney has to manage - increase prices to get a bit more profit versus putting too many people off and reducing profit because of that.

I was replying to someone who said they would not visit the parks because of this. Ironically I didn't say I would not pay it (although I can't imagine being that desperate to ride anything), nor did I say it would stop me visiting the parks.

And I never said anything about what you would do, with regards to paying for LLPP or visiting the parks. I was following on from your post and was talking about people generally. And I was 'saying' this to the people generally in this thread, not specifically to just you (we're all speaking out loud in this room, as it were).

Although I do now note that Nomis was talking about fastpasses in general and not just the LLPP. I guess with all the talk of LLPP recently I assumed they only meant that, rather than *any* of the paid fastpass options (LLMP, LLSP, etc). So some/most of my comment was somewhat irrelevant.

Given that every theme park charges for their fastpasses, I guess Nomis won't be visiting any theme parks for a while.

Then you guess wrong. It’s not so much about a fast pass it’s about having something taken away and the price still rising. As I very clearly stated it’s not just th fast pass, I am not happy about the deal Disney now offer so I am not going there, other than a day in typhoon lagoon as it’s good value to book a cheap hotel for one night to get the pass.

I am going to Universal next year and get a free fast pass for the parks, included in our hotel costs. seaworld and Busch gardens don’t have the same queues as Disney.

I am not happy about what Disney have taken away so I will vote with my feet, other people will still think they get value and go and others will still go an moan everyone has a choice and needs to decide what is right.

My daughter is 15 so there is not as much for her at Disney, not interested in being a princess or meeting tigger or anything else aimed at small children, she wants to do rollercoasters etc. if I thought she would still enjoy Disney more than my “rip off / enjoyment” gauge may fall the other way and I would pay.

So when Universal took away their free fastpasses for everyone, did you stop going there? They now only provide them for "free" for those staying at the deluxe resorts - everyone else has to pay. And their prices also rise at the same rate as Disney's.

If it's more about all the other changes Disney has made over the years, and Disney is no longer "worth" it to you because of those changes, then that's fair enough. I have no issues with people who decide that Disney is no longer for them due to the costs, or lack of perks, involved.

However, you did say (and I quote) "but we will not be going back until they have free fast passes which may be never !".

So you weren't "very clear" - you seemed to be saying it was just because of the lack of free fastpasses (which, btw, you're paying for at Universal, albeit in the cost of the hotel). If you'd said "but we will not be going back until they have changed everything back to how they used to be" then that would've been clearer.

This thread was meant to be about fastpasses, not any of the other changes Disney have made.

It's not free. It's in with the cost of the hotel room. Those hotel rooms would in no way cost that much if there was no fast pass. They're not that much better than the other Universal Hotels.

The free fast passes helped me to justify the high ticket prices to enter Disney - around double the price of Six Flags ( around $60).

Yes, they would be around £200 a night without the passes.
