thanks for replying again guys, lots of food for thought.
we'll see how we feel in our last week, we're there for 4 weeks this time and will be doing universals, sw, busch, ksc, gatorland and dc so a fair bit to do but we generally just pick the rides we want to do and know how to navigate it all but even so don't want to be theme parked out then pay all that money for disney when we're possibly knackered and fight more traffic in there lol. might just save the money towards epic next year, theres only guardians we was mainly interested in as the kids find disney too young for them now and prefer the bigger real coasters, can't wait for iron gwazi as we was there a few weeks before it opened last time and missed out and heard so many good things, just hope its not neck snapping as the original! |

Get up early and arrive two hours before gate opening- enjoy rope drop and the quietest time in the parks. Unless we all do it of course! 😂

Ah ok.
It's just that you did say "we will not be going back until they have free fast passes" which, to me, sounds like the only real issue was the lack of free fastpasses; fix that and you'll be back. You can see where the confusion lies, yes? Anyway, apologies.

"Do Disney do any Free fastpasses... ":pg ig:
TBH the days of Disney doing anything "Free" are long gone Essex B why are you arriving 2 hours early? Early Entry is only 30 mins before opening so what are you doing for the other 90mins? SD

I have arrived at 7 am and it’s open. Allow time to park the car and get to the front entrance.
I’m an early bird and leave at 5am in the UK to avoid traffic. ‘ The early bird catches the worm ‘ is a true saying. You’re not alone trying to get there early. We are front of the rope drop and see the parade while others are dithering . No brainier for me..

It's only open at 7:00am on days where it's opening at 8:00am though so on a "normal" 9:00am opening it will open at 08:00 but you'll be stuck on mainstreet for 30mins before onsite guests can "go",Rope drop isn't until official opening

Getting there 30 minutes before opening time isn't a great idea. You'll be arriving at the rear of the rope drop crowds and therefore won't get the benefit of early entry.
Usually it's recommended you arrive a good 30 - 45 minutes before early entry. Admittedly, 90 minutes before early entry is a bit keen. But if you want to be at the very front of those early entry crowds then I can see getting there that early being a "good" idea. I've arrived at Universal almost 1 hour 45 minutes before the official opening time a couple of times last year. But early entry is (over) 1 hour before the official opening time there. I've never arrived 2 hours early at Disney.

I do sometimes chuckle at people queueing for an hour at rope drop then "getting straight on X ride with no queue!?!?! ".
You queued for an hour for that ride. |

I know. But they queued for that hour before the park opened. And they got that first popular ride out of the way in a short time after the park opened.
So that gives them more time to do the other rides and means they are ahead of the crowds for those other rides as well - so their queues for the rest of the morning will generally be shorter.
