Dispute with Travel Republic, where do I stand?

In August I bought tickets with Travel Republic for Yas Island.

Before I bought them I read the important information and it said:

"After redeeming the first park entrance, the second- and third-day allocation can be used at any time within 6 calendar days after the date of the first visit"

The important word there being after. Because of that word, when we first used them on a Tuesday, we counted six days after and worked out our last day to use before expiry was Monday. We went to the last park on Monday and they were expired, so we had to pay another £247 to get into the park. Bearing in mind these multipark tickets only cost £400 total.

I queried with them and they rejected it even quoting the same wording above in the email. So I then opened a dispute with AMEX and they have sided with them because in the ticket paperwork small print it says:

"After redeeming the first park entrance, the second- and third-day allocation can be used at any time within 6 calendar days of the date of the first visit"

If I had seen this at the point of purchase I would have known, can I do anything else here? I fully believe they were mis sold and they even quoted the wording back to me in an email!

They weren't mis sold but the wording may have changed.

Do you have a copy of the wording from the website saying ‘after’? If so I would send this evidence to both parties and ask for them to reconsider in light of the inconsistency. If you don’t have a print of the wording then I don’t think you stand a chance.

Could you contact Trading Standards (I think they are called something else now) for help.
I see exactly where you are coming from.

Did they change the wording on the website to "within" after your complaint? If so it would appear to be there mistake.

Also after buying the tickets is there anywhere on them that contradicts what travel republic said? If so think you will be out of luck, but still think its poor service from them.

After researching I think I can go to the financial ombudsman as the credit card company haven't sided with me.

I had Amex ridiculously get difficult about an Air Canada refund in Covid. They backed down and refunded me when I threatened to sue them under the Consumer Credit Act so maybe threaten that first.
Based on what you say on here I think you’d win.
