Food at Gatwick
We're booked for the BLOC hotel in August. Were checking in round 4ish so are looking for somewhere to eat in the south terminal for dinner and then breakfast the next day. Which places would you choose for both value and taste? X x

For me Weatherspoons.
For some Giraffe, but I dont think it delivers additional value for the additional money you pay compared with ws. Disney332

Upstairs, one floor up from arrivals, on same level as departures.

Bloc give you a book of coupons which equates (or did!) to a free drink in Giraffe and if you go back there for breakfast you get a discount with your evening meal receipt.
I can’t say I love Giraffe but unlike Wetherspoons it can cater far better for my coeliac daughter.

We ate in the Beehive the evening before our flight in October, the most expensive spoons we have ever had haha. But will eat there again in August as suits as more than Giraffe.

We’ve eaten in the Weatherspoons and the food was fine, it was efficient too. For breakfast you can always grab some pastries and drinks the night before from M&S and stay in your room a bit longer if that proves easier.

When I’ve stayed at Yotel I got up , checked my bags in (had arrived too late for twilight check in) , picked up coffee and super fresh pastries from Costa and retired back to my “room” for breakfast and a leisurely shower and a bit of internet and TV before ambling through security. The most relaxing start to a travel day ever.

We had breakfast at the grain store after security last year. It was really nice. We got it “free” with our Amex gold card.
Will probably do the same again this year. There is Nando’s too which is the only outlet to serve breakfast I believe. Landside options for evening mea are more limited. I’d be tempted to stop somewhere en-route. This is what we did then bag drop and straight to the room. Edited at 07:05 PM. |
