Bon Anniversaire en Paris

My OH (Darrin) is 45 next week and he decided he’d like a long weekend in Paris. We haven’t been for a few years so it will be nice to revisit parts of this beautiful city. Spring in Paris can be beautiful when all the horse chestnut trees are in flower along the Seine.
On the day of our arrival we have lunch booked at the Jules Verne restaurant on the first level at the Eiffel Tower. No need to queue – the restaurant booking gets you VIP admission to the tower! We have other restaurants lined up: “Le Petit Prince” which is in the Sorbonne area for the actual birthday dinner on the Saturday evening and Chartiers for lunch either Saturday or Sunday. Chartiers is just off the Rue du Faubourg Montmartre and set in a lovely courtyard location. Think René’s café in ‘Allo ‘Allo but on a greater scale. Hailing from the 1920s it hasn’t changed down the years and still offers great food, reasonably priced served by lkightning waiters in black waistcoats and a white aprons down to the floor.
We’ll be staying at the Hotel Design Secret de Paris, a boutique type hotel about 5 minutes from the Gare St. Lazaire.
Disneyland Paris? Well, that very much depends on the weather. If it’s wet and windy we won’t bother. If it’s a reasonable day then we’ll head out to Marne la Vallée on the RER service. That’s why I haven’t posted this in the DLP forum.
So a week tomorrow – it will be off to St. Pancras for the Eurostar train. Can’t wait.

I love Chartier - the end of Ratatouille where the boy and the rats set up a bistro always reminds me of it!
