Hotel Advice

Hello All,

It seems like such a long time ago that I was on here loving my life because I was going to the magical place, 3 years just seems way too long.
We are planning a family return trip and will have some added extras, it will be myself, my daughter, my parents, my brother, his wife and my niece.

I will be 42
DD will be 16 (just finishing her GCSE's so I think she'll deserve the holiday)
Parents will be 66 and 67
Brother and Wife will be 44 and 40+
Niece will be 8

With all that in mind I am trying to find the best hotel for us, we wont be sharing rooms so will be booking 3 but when we went we stayed at Caribbean Beach Resort, it was brilliant but I think I would prefer to stay somewhere different.
I know you are all the bees knees when it comes to all things Disney so would absolutely love opinions on which hotel you think would suit the ranging ages to keep every one happy.

Choices are:
Caribbean Beach again
Coronado Springs
POR - French or Riverside
Animal Kingdom Lodge.

Im not sure about the others but I will be upgrading to the DDP so I can do more table service meals.
It may be a few years out but I can still be excited... right

If cost isn't an issue, AKL is easily the best out of those - especially if you pay the extra for the Savannah view. Food options at AKL are the best of all the Disney hotels (IMO) and the hotel is wonderful. Pool is excellent and you have the animals to look at which everyone will surely enjoy.

Depending on when you are going, you might get free DDP which will soften the blow of the extra cost.

Of the moderates Port Orleans seems the most highly regarded on here. I can give a massive thumbs up to Coronado Springs which is a great resort.

Out of that lot I would be between AKL and POFQ, the latter because it looks by far the nicest of the moderates (to the point that I’ve booked there for next year). While AKL has always looked amazing when we have eaten there. The down side is that it is so much further away from the majority of parks.

Have you considered SSR or OKW? If they are available that would be my first choice, having stayed at both. The location and extra space are a big plus, as is the general higher quality of the resort vs the moderates. If free dining was on for October next year I would be seriously looking at moving our booking at the 11 month mark (though without the free ddp it’s a lot more expensive than French quarter

I would throw Saratoga into the mix, I don't think you can rule out the close proximity to Disney Springs, likewise POFQ. AKL is stunning but you are a bit remote & really there is nowhere to walk if you want to get away from things
