Inventions Character Dinner - DLH hotel guests only

I've just read this on another forum. Only DLH guests for dinner others lunch available to anyone in 3 sittings.

Very bad move IMO as there will be no other character dinner opportunity now Cafe Micky closed.

Honestly don't know how they have come up with this one!

Take a look at the other threads. No-one is quite sure whether this is what that sentence means. Or indeed whether there are characters at dinner all!

Until the new system has had a while to bed in, let's just see what people who are actually there feed back.

Yes, but there is doubt as to whether it is correct (contradicted elsewhere) or even what it means. Website hasn't been updated yet and the changes only start to kick in today, so I would wait a while yet.

Well fingers crossed. Some VERY knowledgable people on FB are now reporting it as accurate. No more dinner bookings from today unless you are staying at DLH.

But there are other threads saying there are no characters at dinner at all! Confirmed by CMs - and yet unlikely to be true.

Info on website, brochure and by phone seems confusing and contradictory - as, frankly, is normally the case with DLP communications!

It might perhaps mean that you can only book the lunch in advance, but you can book dinner while you are there (even if you are not staying in the hotel)?

I honestly can't see them having no character meals at all in the evening except for DLH hotel guests. I can perhaps see DLH hotel guests being given priority - but surely not sole access.

Just had a look on the Tripadvisor forum. They seem to think it means:

If you want to book in advance, it's only lunch
If you want to book dinner, only DLH hotel guests can, while you are there

However, that doesn't mean you can't try for a walk up? It would just mean DLH guests got priority. Which I agree is still daft.

I guess we won't know until people start trying to eat there while they are staying there.

I don't think people will be happy with that. Too much uncertainty even if you are staying at DLH you need to know what your arrangements are in advance especially if travelling with young families. I wouldn't be happy if I'd paid for premium dining vouchers and could potentially only use them for lunch at inventions either.

I think it is a terrible move on the part of Disney unless they intend to open another evening character dining location.

Yes I've posted this on a couple of Fb groups. From how it's written it looks like anyone can book lunch but only DLH guests can do dinner. Characters will be there for both
