Advice on flight prices
Sorry, I know this is another flight price thread but hopefully someone can give me an idea. We were previously thinking April 2020 and now circumstances have changed we might be thinking up to 3 weeks in August. I would just about have an idea of what is a reasonable flight price, but to throw another variable in, premium economy may be on the table.
Im happy with what each offers, the pros and cons, etc and I'm not looking to shift dates to make it lower, I just want an idea if these are reflective of a reasonable cost for each to decide whether or not PE should be ruled out. So I've done dummy quotes on 4/8-25/8 this year, LGW-MCO, 4A & 2C BA incl baggage £5026 WT+ £8827 I would not pay that much more for WT+, but I thought the economy fare was in the ball park of what I'd expect. Virgin economy delight (so not quite like for like) was £6605 PE £9235 - now I know PE as vastly superior to WT+ but I'm still interested if that is a sensible price for Aug in PE, I think if PE was about £1200 per person I might be seriously considering, but not at nearly double the BA world traveller price And just for comparison, Thomas Cook premium, slightly diff dates just to find PE availability but theirs was £8340 TIA for your input |

Blimey, I've literally just searched on my dates for BA 17/8-31/08 for 2a and 2c LGW-MCO and the quote was £4,500!
I realise I'm not responding to your question, I'm just amazed at the difference in the quotes. |

If it helps you, if you've not booked already, those are the exact dates we went in 2017. I booked through Iberia, flying ba, and we went into Tampa. 2a 2c was £2600 which I thought was an absolute steal at the time. Mco was always around the £3250 mark which given the two extra adults in my quote above, is roughly the same per person this year

I have booked 5th- 26th August from LHR to Fort Lauderdale for 2 adults and 1c (so half your numbers) for £1800, so double that for 4 adults and 2 children and it would be about £3600 for economy, luggage and car. I appreciate it departs and arrives in to different airports to your quote but at £1200 less I’d happily drive the 3 1/2 hours up to Orlando. I’ve done this many times and it’s an easy journey.

7&9. Those are literally first quotes I've done today. I have always had a benchmark for what I think regular old economy is worth and we've paid before but we suddenly are in a position where premium is a possibility so I'm trying to get a realistic idea of what I might get without going so far as to stalk the website every single day!

We just booked flydrive with BA from LGW to Tampa £427 each economy. We were looking at PE but for such a great price we booked it then reserved the seats we wanted as flight was pretty empty! Maybe look at Tampa for a comparison 😊
