AKL Refurb- anyone been affected?

Hello everyone
We're booked to go back to AKL in November for the first time since our honeymoon so very excited! We believe there's been a refurb programme at AKL for the rooms, and DH read online a horror story of someone who booked a savannah room finding the savannah full of cranes (the industrial not bird kind)! It sounds like they were very unlucky but I was wondering if anyone on here has been impacted by the refurb at all?
And if you've stayed in a refurbed room, what was it like?

Try putting AKL Refurb rooms in the search box there was an excellent video on one of the threads about it. The refurb rooms look fabulous. I believe all of Kudu trail Rooms are finished now, Savannah & partial Savannah Standard rooms.
The couple with the 'cranes' view I believe complained & were moved to a better view room.
We are off there in September but not bothered much about views as we dont intend spending too much time in the room anyway.
You can request a refurb room b4 you go.

We came back a month ago and spent 10 nights in Kidani with a view of a crane

It was on the building opposite us and moved its way around and was on our balcony on the last day

I cant honestly say it bothered us

Of course it would have been better if we couldnt see it but I honestly dont think it had much of an impact.

At any one time there were dozens of room that could see the crane

Imagine if everyone in all those rooms asked to be moved ?

To me its a absolute necessity that this sort of work is carried out so I cant see what the resort can do about it

The staff are great and will move you if you not happy with your room. That’s what we found anyway, I wouldn’t worry. The hotel is amazing 😉 enjoy
