Just to confirm that the vest MUST be kept in the CAR with you, NOT just in the boot, and you need a warning triangle with you as well...

The French Road Safety Department has confirmed that:

From 1st October 2008 all drivers in France, including drivers of vehicles registered outside of France, must have one warning triangle and one reflective jacket in their vehicle.

This regulation, which we understand does not apply to two and three wheeled vehicles, will be enforced with on-the-spot fines of between €90 and €135.

I think it's a high viz vest for everyone in the car too so that'll be 3 then!

Make sure you practice the headlight adjusters as they're fiddly. We usually put them on whilst on the Eurotunnel as you shouldn't have them on whilst on UK roads obviously.

Edit: differing opinions on how many high viz jackets you need - The AA says one per car, the Camping club and a few others say one per person. Might be worth getting one per person anyway just to be sure.

Nope - just the driver - see above

I think the advice of one per head is good though .
The europeans dont really do "hard shoulders" like we do, so if you breakdown and all need to get out of the car, a high viz is a great idea.

Thankyou everyone for all the advice, I am sooo excited I don't know how long I keep my gob shut about the surprise hahaha it's already killing me but I want to do it that way, I have been scouring ebay for some autograph books, some disney ears and T-shirts etc and will make up a little box for each of them and put it on the end of their bed the night before, so that they wake up and wonder what the heck is going on! , then I will probably burst and start running round the house like a complete loonie shouting "we're going to Disneyland" Yaaaay! whilst the kids wet themself with excitment!
Ok so plan of the day... order some High Viz vests and magnetic GB sticker and headlight doofers!
I am completely away with the fairies(Disney ones of course) as far as making a plan, I don't think my OCD heart can take anymore worry, but will try, we will deffo come back, so not gonna crucify myself if we dont fit it all in, A couple of great pics with the characters and some great video will satisfy me and the girls until the next Disney trip probably at the end of the year. Gonna listen to the DIBB cast again and keep reading the trippies, thanks all xx
