Fuel Shortages

Hi, we go on Monday, does anyone know roughly how bad this will affect us, torn as whether to cancel or not? Or is it too much of an unknown? We are hiring a car so not sure yet if petrol or diesel, is either one more available than the other? We're staying in a villa about 20miles from Disney so we'll be at a bit of a loss without fuel😐😐

as previously posted, this link gives an indication of which petrol stations have fuel penurie.mon-essence/w/opened/ you can also download the app.
No one could say with certainty that all stations will have fuel at this moment. I have been advised that the stations on the autoroute are more likely to retain fuel longer as less local people use them due to the toll charge.
We are also traveling to dlp on Monday, we think our car can hold enough fuel to see us there and back and we plan to just top up on the autoroute as we get closer to dlp just in case.

Update as of this morning 27.05.16

No fuel where we stayed overnight near Bethune.

We had filled up at Ashford and we topped up at Aire du Ressons on the A1, they had both gazole (diesel) and unleaded. Prices were more than French supermarkets but not crazy.

We got off the N104 and drove through Montevrain to get to DLP. The little total garage and the supermarket garage both appeared to have fuel, can't guarantee they had all fuel types as we didn't go in. Queues didn't look too bad.

Obviously this is a snapshot as of this morning and no guarantee of future supply.

Thankyou Bucksmum for keeping us updated. It's helpful to know that the garages you used/seen still had fuel and no trouble around them. We arrive in France in Monday morning and will update with our findings aswell.

My sil just called. She said they are working on the premise that of they pass a gas station with fuel, they always top up. Even if its just 10€ to keep on top of it. They're managing ok .

We have just filled up 30 minutes from dlp. No queues and plenty of fuel. We use Deisel. We had to use a card pump as couldn't see any normal pumps. Was a bit scary as my card is often a pain in the bum when using abroad. We now have a full tank again and 625 is miles to go on the clock so feeling relaxed.

Also wanted to note that every service station we have passed including the one right outside the tunnel have been open. No queues at all but definitely up and running. I cannot comment on fuel types available as we didn't drive into all of them. They were however advertising the price of both Petrol and Deisel

We're on our way home. We filled up at lunchtime at the Carrefour at Cite Europe in Calais, 1.139 euros a litre for diesel, no issues with supply and no queues. Obviously this is a snapshot in time and no guarantee of future supply.

It was chucking it down at DLP as we left so hope it brightens up for those on their way there now.
