By basic do you mean Platinum?Gold is only available to DVC members, whilst I don't know the exchange price you are looking at $1200 plus tax so even if they give you full price for your 14 day - currently £395- you are still looking at over $700! At that price point you a probably looking at 3 holidays to make it worth it

That's the same conclusion I came to, we used to have them and 2 visits made them really great value... not any more though.

Julie the massive hike last year put paid to that, even with DVC discount we worked out that it was cheaper to buy 2x 21 day passes than it was to buy an AP!

I enquired in September and yes it was about $700, maybe $675. Didn’t do it, I think it only makes sense for three visits in a year now.

So in September it was $625 I think I was quoted for the non-water parks version.

Considering that 14-day Ultimate tickets are likely to be around £450 in 2021, which is $585 at the current exchange rate, then $625 to upgrade isn't too bad. It's only $40 more than a 14-day ticket might be - and you'd save more than that after parking twice at WDW.

If it's $700 then that's $115 more - or less than 5 parking charges.

I had to factor in that we do not have a car and also the loss of free dining by not buying the second set of tickets in April.

If you don't benefit from free parking and lose free dining then I can understand not bothering with upgrading to an AP either. It's not worth it.
