What do people think Disney will offer as compensation for the loss of DDP?

What I think will happen and what I hope are different. I hope they’ll offer something to either keep the booking or allow you to move with perhaps a discount but I think in reality they’ll be discouraging people from keeping existing bookings. They may encourage booking for next year so maybe you’ll get the option to cancel this year without penalty or move to next year with some sort of incentive. It’s a tough one to call as with everything else it’s unprecedented.

Its hard to tell how keen they are going to be to keep their international bookings, I guess a lot depends on how "we" spend when we are there over our 2 weeks vs how Americans spend over their shorter period. If they tend to make a higher margin out of international visitors I expect they will go all out to try and keep our bookings. If the US guest offers a higher total spend, they will push us to go next year.

For those booked in October onwards, who have paid OOP for the dining plan I suspect nothing will be offered. Which is most annoying

I think you’ll get a compensation of some kind.
International visitors account for a small percentage of their profits overall compared to Americans, but I don’t think they’d do anything to discourage your business.

In a way I'm hoping that there will be a rebook & comp or cancel& refund offer although that would then mean we have a decision to make. If it were one or the other then that would be taken out of our hands

Sadly I think the best we can expect is a cancellation and refund. Anything more would be a nice bonus.
None of this was anyone's fault, not ours, not theirs, it has been, to use an over used word of late - unprecedented.
They are a business at the end of the day, doing their best to stay in business They want to be able to provide the service - but are simply unable at these strange times

It doesn't mean I'm not disappointed that my free dining is gone but hey-ho.

This is all just my own opinion on this though, please don't jump on me!

I've worked it out , to get what we had, compared to the price for same dates next year , we need 45% off the room price

I think Disney will offer refund and possibly and percentage off for bookings next year... I’m wondering if they would prefer international guests to cancel... can you imagine arriving after a long flight, then Disney not being able to allow you to access your room because your temperature is a bit high?!? That would be their nightmare!

I voted for cancel and refund. I don’t think they will want to incentivise people to go ahead with bookings this year.
