We always tip $1-$2 a tray - I believe this is the norm in the US... but if its a big order, or very late at night, etc we tend to tip a little more.

Passporter.com (the definative DCL guide) has recently changed its recommendation from $1 to $2 per person (after many years of suggesting $1)... but you might want to bear in mind that your dining room server is only getting $4 pp per night, and in my view they are putting alot more effort in than simply bringing a tray to your room.

However, at the end of the day, tipping is very much a personal thing, so there's certainly no right or wrong answer.

There aint an exact science to tipping. Just tip what you feel appropriate.

$1 a plate for us or thereabouts. If it's alot, we'd just give them $5 though.
