Just out of interest, when are you planning on going? We are planning for next year, so if you go before us I would love to hear how you get on.
We are a family of 4, children will be 9 and 5. Our plan is flying into LA, spending 5 days there including Universal, the usual sights, Hollywood sign hike and visit a beach or 2. Then moving onto Palm Springs for a few days (in an airbnb with a pool preferably!) From here we plan on doing the Aerial Tramway, Joshua Tree national park, Cabazon dinosaurs and Calico ghost town. Finishing back in Anaheim for 4 days in Disneyland. If I could have 3 or 4 weeks though like you are, I would want to explore more. Do North to South or even go to Vegas. There are lots of brilliant trip reports to give you some ideas. Happy planning 😀

Hi first off what all do want to see, PCH,Monterey,Carmel, Yosemite , Vegas Grand Canyon ,San Diego . Also Palm Springs in summer gets incredibly hot J/A 95/115 so not the best for relaxing even by the pool. Have a look at the maps and look at driving times it’s a massive area and 3-4 hour drives are normal.
