Is there any chance you can put your stuff in your other cases and just take the broken one back empty ?

My concern in wrapping your case with cling film or duct tape is that if your case is selected for opening & inspection by TSA, they’ll likely tear/cut this open to get into your case & won’t/can’t reseal it.
If your case then has a large open zipper section, there’s a risk your belongings could fall out & be lost during transit, loading/unloading & baggage handling.

Can you buy a giant hold-all and put it inside the hold-all? It’s likely to get inspected on the way home, so clingfilming r taping it you run the risk of them not being able to close it again, leaving the zip and straping it, the rest might fail when it’s check about at the airport both ends?
Pop it in 2 bin liners and tape the bin liner togather, then leave spares and tape with a note as you open it saying ‘sorry the zip is broken please reseal with this handy tape?’

I didn’t see these comments before heading to Walmart and only bought tape and wrap.
I’ve got no way of getting back to Walmart now 😭

Can you get your giant stitch in this case? Use the bag you were putting that in for clothes. The stitch is less likely to fall out if tsa take off the gaffer tape.
