I agree. However, there is a view that those on the far right would like to see the end of the BBC as they believe it’s too liberal. This tends to cause some heated debate on here

It’s a bit of a waste of time because although you can’t see their posts, if anyone quotes them (usually the case because they are on ignore for a reason) then you see the post anyway.

IMO it's not as friendly as it used to be when I first joined.
I'm not a massive poster but I read often and
there are some posters who I scroll past without reading because I've never seen them say anything nice. I genuinely wonder if they are as harsh in real life or just behind the comfort of their screen.
I didn't know there was an ignore button, will check that out now.

Wow! You really do learn something new every day. I did not know there was an ignore function. What upsets me sometimes is when someone genuinely asks a question that they do not know the answer to and then someone else turns the thread into a massive debate about something totally unrelated to the original question. It doesn’t help the person who asked the question at all and then they get their thread closed.

To me it's about giving advice, saving people money and showing empathy. The best forum on here is the Car one. All about helping people.

If I have answered the question about 'Can I go straight to the garage with Alamo' once since Xmas I have answered it 20 times.
However like others on there we show patience and accept not everybody has the time to search out answers.

99.9% of stuff on here is great and long may it continue.

As always if there is a problem with a post please report it.

Most of the issues we see are due to people reacting to differing opinions and not understanding our rule for not making posts personally aimed at other members, especially when it is unfriendly. Nearly all of these issues arise in non planning topics.

We are taking action against those members that do not adhere to our T&C's. Several members have been removed from the DIBB or had their access restricted due to arguments and personal comments.

For those that have reported posts, thank you, even if no apparent action is seen to be taken on the actual post that has been reported, it does help us identify problems. For example we are aware of a couple of members that have previously left or been removed that are back on the forums under a different username. If they return to their old habits of stirring up trouble then it is easy for us to then restrict or remove their access.

Please only report a post if it contravenes our T&C's though, we are seeing some reported posts where someone is saying they are offended by comments made but when we review those comments it's just a differing opinion.

Differing opinions are allowed, debates are allowed, what is NOT allowed is to make comments personal and unfriendly.
