Food delivery- how do you unpack
When you get a food delivery how do you deal with it?
Usually I carry a crate in they carry ither crates into kitchen. I unload quickly. I tried once having 2 massive bags at door and unloading into them. Not sure it was any quicker for them or me. What do you do with yours?

I ha e a food delivery every week, they bring it in crates, I empty them one at a time, chuck it all on kitchen floor and sides then sort it out and put it away. They deliver straight to kitchen door so it's not hard for us, all I do is run out when van pulls up and open gate

When OH is home he brings the crates through I empty onto kitchen floor then take the crate back to the door. When i'm at home alone I empty into two huge Disney bags and drag it through

I empty each tray onto my hall floor then carry it all into the kitchen and put away. I had thought of putting into big bags but wasn't sure if that would be quicker.

The crates get put just inside my front porch and I transfer the shopping into big blue Ikea bags on the doorstep. I’ll carry them through to the kitchen when the driver has gone.

I've got a few of those big builders buckets, I tend to empty into those at the door as my kitchen is pretty small

Unpack the crates in the hallways, as some of the bulky stuff like 2l bottles of pop, or bulk loo rolls just stays there, plus the bathroom for any toiletries is there, then take groceries to the kitchen where Chris unpacks and I put away.
So much easier! /Mo |

I have refined it now... They take the shopping in the crates to the back door. At the back door I have our outdoor table - one of those smallish round ones - I move it in front of the door. They put a crate on there, I transfer to the kitchen surfaces (cleared in the morning in readiness!), then repeat til done and I put away.
I still hate having no bags. I begrudge buying bin-bags - single use plastic that I have to pay loads for instead of 40p for loads of bags that get reused and end up as bin bags! I hate the fact that all my shopping is in crates that have had god knows what in. I had loose bananas and bleach in the same crate last time. Who would do that themselves? Had Waitrose this week. With bags... Took so little time, handed me bags, put on floor, signed, unpacked direct to fridge/cupboard etc, no middle stage. Using them more often lately. |

Thanks. Sounds like Im not the only one unloading at crazy speed to floor/table
Tonight will be interesting at chucking it down so I might unload in porch to save wet crates and feet all over kitchen floor. (I'll obviously let driver stand in porch too not outside!)
