Sadly some of us on here remember it from Jet at 4/11d a gallon.

If you were a rich kid then Shell was 5/3d

Fill up while u can because when we lockdown and re open there literally will be panic buying for people to go out haha No seriously it's funny how it has taken this to show just how much profit they are making on petrol normally. I filled up Friday at the high price and got 3/4 tank left with not being out since monday. Hubby still working so is loving this price.

I cant remember that but definitely remember them blocking the pumps when it went up to 90p a litre.
It's used to cost me £30 for a full tank of diesel a week. I'm not too bad off as my car is in eco mode, I got to work out of town 40mile dound trip every day and take kids to training every night and I fill up every 2-3weeks.

Because I drive diesel and buy new I tend to run very low then fill up completely. That way it keeps the sludge at the bottom to a minimum.

£76 last week.

Passed my driving test in 1969 when I had to have a man with a red flag walking in front of me.

I can't remember what I had for breakfast today so no chance with petrol prices 51 years ago. Passed in an Austin 1100 if anyone recalls them.

Mick

I remember the neighbour borrowing my dad's car once and when he returned it he said "I've put 10 bob in for you Alan"😳
