I’ve booked the avanti for 2 weeks as well. But the resort fee I have is $11.71 per night(this includes tax) so where are people getting $18 dollars per night from?
Also love bug seasons over there is April till may and August to September so no matter where you go they will get everywhere and there is not much you can do about that sadly as I found out from a previous trip. Edited at 01:42 PM. |

I was charged $18+tax per night resort fee. I asked about it as Thomas Cook said it was meant to be $12 plus tax, which I had in writing. Avanti also has it on their own website that it is meant to be $12+tax
Completely understand it's lovebug season. But there certainly shouldn't be about 50 of them all over your room when you first go in. My wife and I cleared them and didn't have a single lovebug for the rest of our stay so god knows why there were so many in there to begin with. Edited at 02:01 PM. |

Friends of ours were booked to stay there for the second week of their trip last summer and only lasted one night. Said it was the worst place they have ever stayed in. They couldn’t wait to get out of there.

We’ve stayed there and it was one of our best trips. We adore it!

Getting Excited

Us too, we were last there 2017 and our room was smashing. Not the ritz but perfectly clean and safe enough for us for 2weeks. The location is amazing and the pool area is lovely.
We have booked to go again October 2020 through tui so am confident the room will be of a certain standard of not then it’s up to the hotel then tui to rectify the situation. |
