Problem with photos on iPhone

I wonder if any kind dibbers can help.

I have an iPhone 6, I take lots of photos and I believe I have extra cloud storage.

I’ve never had any issues but over the last few days, some of the pictures I’ve taken have become blurry with a little exclamation mark in the bottom corner.

I’ve googled this and know it’s something to do with the settings and iCloud but whatever I do I can’t sort it out.

I’m a bit upset as it was a family celebration for DD’s 18th yesterday and even though the photos were ok when I took them, they’re now blurry!

Can anyone offer any advice?

The exclamation point on an iPhone photo means that the photo is not original but just a copy of original that's been compressed. ... To get rid of that exclamation point, we will get to download the original photo from the iCloud. For that, select Download and Keep Originals option under Settings > Photos.
