Quebec 2016 - On y va LIVE - Day 19 - S'more Messing Around On The River

We woke up to sunshine!

Another leisurely breakfast of bagels/raisin toast/yoghurt with coffee and bagels.

Hopefully the weather will stay nice so we can have the fire!

We decided to go into La Tuque to find the suspension bridge and to buy some more rubber rings.

We passed the sawdust mountain - it really does stand out on the landscape. You can just make out the caterpillar tractor on the top of it which gives you an idea of the size of it.

We went to the marina but there was nobody there. It seems this really is an undeveloped tourist area. You really do have to make your own entertainment - thankfully we are good at that.

We eventually found the suspension bridge - it was only just wider than our car and I didn't like going over it - good job I wasn't driving

We had to turn round and go back over it as there wasn't another way to get across the river! It was a nice view though!

After a stop at Dollarama to pick up some more inflatables we headed back for lunch.

After that we went to La Croche - not far as the crow flies. The town has 500 inhabitants but no shops or bars.

The main attraction is the river which winds it way along for 90km. The bottom is sand.

The beach is sandy and the water not too cold!

Fun was had floating around the bend of the river! Plus DD managed to do some fishing so she was very happy!

Back at the house, I made rosti, fried eggs and beans for dinner - haute cuisine here

DH then lit the fire!

And DD was so happy to make her s'mores.

S'mores with nutella and marshmallows!

The kids then went back into the river for some action on the rapids! The river was higher today after the rain last night.

We retired back to the house to watch the olympics. Another lovely day! Tomorrow is our last full day at this house before heading back to Montreal.

I'd not have liked that bridge either - I get nervous around water. Although your family are having a great time on the rivers and lakes you've visited.

Bit scary going over the bridge but a lovely view when you did. Glad you got to have your fire. Smores look yummy.

We love it here! We are already expats (we haven't lived in the UK for over 20 years) but if we were to move again this would be our country of choice!

The bridge was not a highlight The smores were very nice!

Beautiful view from the bridge. Not sure I would have liked driving over it either, though!

Your dinner is beautifully presented. I thought it might have been a meal out. Plus, that s'more looks really good!
