blade-wise, i tend to get the packs of 10 from wilkos for about a quid... ive tried the japanese feather blades (by far the sharpest blades generally available) and unless i was shaving daily, the feathers are just too sharp for me. couple it with a good badger brush and a shave stick, and you've got a great shaving setup for pennies per shave

the key is prep... always hydrate and prep your skin before you shave (doing it straight out of the shower is a good start) or you'll just rip your face to shreds. king of shaves oil is also really good, and a bottle of it will last forever (you only need a couple of drops per shave) - amazon/King-Shaves...nguag e=en_GB

I remember using disposable Bics when I was young. Now that did create cuts.

Just brought back memories of styptic pencils.
