We are also going next week. I have been before but not made any plans this time.

We liked the chocolate cafe in Harvey nicks and I was thinking of booking afternoon tea.

We enjoyed the museum of Edinburgh. There’s also a childhood museum.

And the camera obscura.

I also fancy going to the Stirling kelpies.

Cool Jade directly across from the zoo is really nice for dinner and a 5 min walk from the zoo takes you into Corstorphine where there is a Weatherspoons, Toby Carvery, Italian etc food wise.

I went last year but didn't really do that much in the way of touristy things. I did enjoy walking the Royal Mile from the castle to the palace (and it's downhill so a very easy walk... the other way round is a bit harder). Also climbed to the top of Arthur's Seat which was a pretty good experience - I don't climb hills or hike normally and found it doable.

Mary Kings Close on the Royal Mile is good retakes you under the streets to see where old Edinburgh is before the Plague when the streets were sealed up to stop the spread of it.

I live in Edinburgh and agree Cool Jade is an excellent recommendation and definitely up there as one of the best in town. Happy to give som3 other suggestions if you can give info on what you like and budget etc? Also which area are you staying in?

The Kelpies are at Falkirk not Stirling Also near there is the Falkirk wheel which links the Forth and Clyde canal to the Union canal quite impressive how it lifts the boats.
