Day out recommendations NW England

Anyone have any recommendations of a dog friendly day out over Easter in the NW.

I have persuaded DH to have one day over Easter where we aren’t at a horse show/doing something with the horses, and as the weather is good, really fancy a nice outside day out. Happy to travel a bit, but do want it to be dog friendly, as I don’t want to have to leave the 11 month old pup alone all day. I was going to suggest a picnic at the Polo but it doesn’t start til next weekend.

Any recommendations? Not Tatton Park though as we’ve been several times as it’s not far from us at all.

Dog friendly beaches/walks etc?

Thanks

Go up to Windermere, get a day ticket for the boat. Have lunch in the water edge inn, you can keep your dog with you while you eat.

When we lived in Warrington one of my favourite days further out was Llangollen in North Wales. Closer we liked Walton Hall and gardens and walking by the canal. Mind you it is nearly 30 years ago since I lived there!

Walk around Grizedale Forest in Lake District. Dog friendly, can get something to eat & drink at start/end.

Lyme Park?

Quarry Bank Mill and the surrounding area?
(dogs can't go in the mill itself but they can go round the grounds)

Formby beach, Dunham Massey, Worden Park (in Leyland) is fantastic for dogs. It has a shallow stream that winds through the woods that is very dog friendly. Wear your wellies and you can paddle though it with your dog. Its a lovely walk and there is a really nice coffee shop in the park too.
