Day trip to Bahamas

Hi,

Has anyone done a trip to the Bahamas whilst in Florida? Theres a company called bahamashuttleboat.com who do a day trip but I can only find dates available up to September. Surely they would still travel through October and November?
Wondering if dates will become available as we get closer to the trip.
Unless they don't do trips because its hurricane season?

Thanks

Hi - We done a day trip to the Bahamas - but ... it was in June 1988 - on our honeymoon. Sorry does'nt really answer your question - but I seem to remember we enjoyed it!

Wouldn't hurry back to the Bahamas

We took a cruise from Port Canaveral to Nassau and I remember Nassau being a bit run down with nothing much to do or see.

We preferred and still do St Augustine

We did a day cruise out of West Palm Beach to Freeport about 25 years ago... would I do it again?... No. We got about an hour to ourselves on Freeport before getting back on ship. The sailing was quite rough and everyone was throwing up and falling about on the ship.
We have been since a few times once for a week and 2 stop offs on a couple of week cruises.
The only occasion we found time to do anything of any great interest or fun was when we were there for the week.
I probably wouldn't bother getting off the ship now if we were on a cruise

Nassau was our first port of call when we did our first Caribbean cruise out of Port Canaveral back in 2005. We only walked from the port into the downtown district and sat on the beach for a couple of hours. All I recall is there would be a Gucci shop next door to a local tie-dyed tee shirt shop and then Louis Vuitton. A mixed bag of retail looking for the USD.

I wouldn't rush back.

There are 700 islands in the Bahamas though so maybe New Providence isn't typical.

We did a day trip in 2003...would i do it again?...no. You are on the move more than you are relaxing. On the boat back everyone was sea sick apart from me and I remember one of the rep guys singing (very badly) to karaoke. We laugh about it now but I wouldn't waste precious time doing it again. Your trip may be different though in terms of getting there. We were a bus to Miami and a plane to the Bahamas, if I remember right, then an overnight stay, quick dolphin encounter the following day and a boat back. We were exhausted after it and would rather have spent that time doing something else.
