We stayed for the first time onsite this stay, just one night AKL but they upgraded us to a club level massive suite, it was what I'm sure Richard Branson type person would stay it was incredible, dread to think the cost of it
We couldn't wait to get out of there and get to the villa! The space, the feeling of a home from home, the villas are amazing, I'm glad I saw the onsite thing but absolutely no way I would want to do it again, villas for us are so much better, it may have been different for a longer stay but I don't think it would suit us at all We do only half days though so spend an awful lot of time in the villa

We've stayed onsite twice now with DDP and loved it. We are hoping.to go again in 2018 and although we loved DDP we got a bit fooded out the last time, we also feel that we've visited most of the onsite restaurants that we wanted too.
So with 2017 as a rough price guide I started looking at prices for a villa, once I'd factored in the cost of car, fuel, parking & food I couldn't find a significant price difference to staying onsite to Offsite. How do people make it so much cheaper? ( Not criticising I'd really like to know ) |

Being DVC members, onsite is a given.

Ive voted for onsite which DH and I prefer, but when we go with more than the 2 of us, we stay in a villa.

Does anyone miss having laundry facilities in their accommodation when staying onsite? The idea of having to wait around for washing and drying isn't ideal IMO but I've only ever stayed offsite so I'm looking forward to doing Disney differently this time.

We prefer offsite now as we stay out at the beach and only use Orlando to fly in and out of and perhaps do MVMCP (gives me a fix and that's the cheapest and best option for me). Condos give us the space, the facilities we need and we don't need to leave the room or get bothered by housekeeping unless we really need to

I prefer a 1 bed DVC as it has a washer but we often stay in a studio. I do washing late at night. Take my book or my laptop and type up my trip report.
I can manage with one wash after a week so on a fortnight holiday it's only one night, if we do 3 weeks I'll do it twice. It's not ideal but it's not a deal breaker. |

At Y&BC the laundry rooms are at the quiet pool areas, so I put some in and they wash and dry while we have a relaxing time round the pool one day.

I guess you only do that a couple of times during the holiday anyway so it's not too bad.

I originally polled onsite, but after 12 onsite stays, I think a split stay would be ideal!
