Med cruise - aug or Oct?

What would you recommend? Looking into a celebrity cruise from Venice to Barcelona and it goes either 27th August or 22nd October next year, just wondering if anyone has feedback on weather/crowds and what the sea was like at either time x

I would say October, August could be unbearably hot and over crowded.

We did a cruise from Venice this year and it was fantastic! Yes it was hot and some points in Venice it was crowded but October the weather could be hit and miss. Plus 27th October is the very end of the school hols so hopefully not quite as busy.

We are just coming home 😫 from a Barcelona to Venice cruise that left on the 30th August for 10 nights. The weather has been hot but not unbearable 27 the highest. A few days at 24-25 degrees. Not found anywhere so busy you couldn't cope, although we ended in Venice so that was later! 9th to 12th Sept. I was pleasantly surprised by Venice with regard to the crowds? Was definitely expecting it to be busier everywhere? It's been fine! Had a brilliant time!

Thanks Kate, that’s really helpful, so glad you’ve enjoyed it, we’re almost ready to book, can I ask how the Mediterranean has been - rough/smooth?

It's been like a mill pond! Only felt the boat move once and that was the last night and we went through a short storm! My dd even took her sea bands off! She's never done that before! 😂!

Which ports does the cruise stop at?

Kate, it’s a celebrity cruise, starts in Venice, then Kotor, Dubrovnik, Naples, Rome, Toulon, finishes in Barcelona (I may have missed some ports out!)
