the vegas planes are the same ones as used for florida and the caribbean.they are all looking a bit tired now to be honest but in aircraft terms are really still only babies.they were supposed to be upgraded last year but with the credit cunch etc the updates were put on hold

As I understand, they are still using the 'old' 747's to Vegas, as opposed to the A-320's to other US destinations. I dthink what makes Vegas different is that, in terms of direct service, they;ve have a virtual monopoly. What will bring the service standards up to those we all expect from Virgin is a competitor.

And BA have just become that competitor...

I'm no expert, but I've visited Las Vegas 14 times since 1989 - if you want some advice, feel free to pm me!

vegas is no differant to any of the so called holiday routes out of gatwick, they all share the same 747-400s so it could be anyone of the 8 jumbos used on the LGW/MAN routes. virgin dont use any A-320`s on the heathrow routes A340-600`s are used along with 747-400`s along with a couple of older A340-300s .

the only difference I've ever noticed between virgin planes is that on the hong kong-london route, they had planes that if you were in a window seat, the seat was just too far from the window to lean against it to fall asleep...highly irritating! lol!

Never mind the plane, the international terminal at Vegas is pathetic. take books / papers / stuff to amuse as once you are through security there is nowt to do if you aren't old enough to gamble. a tiny duty free, a slightly bigger newsagents, a pizza hut and burger king outlet and thats about your lot. there is a good view of the runway but not much else to do to kill time.
