Passport renewal timing... if anyone is interested

Just a heads up...

Took pictures Friday morning. Completed application online midday Friday and sent passport recorded delivery Friday afternoon.

Had confirmation today that passport has been completed and will be with me in 2 days.

So max 6 days from online renewal.

Just in case anyone was wondering about current turnaround times!

Great service... over bank holiday weekend also.

Passport doesn’t expire till Feb 2020 but we go NYC via Dublin over Brexit time... so making sure there is more than 6 months on passport

Hmm, I applied for a renewal and was estimated at three weeks. Applied 17th August, old passport received 20th, joined queue 22nd and nothing since.

This is son's first adult passport, being renewed from their child one, not sure if that makes a difference. So, as ever, get it in as soon as you need it, don't expect an immediate turnaround.

I had this with ds passport it took nearly the full 3 wks to get it back though it did arrive within 48hrs of getting the approved text.I don't think it matters what kind of renewal you are doing as dd went from child to adult and hers only took 5 days

I've renewed 3 this year and they all took different amount of time
dd's took 5 days - current one returned to belfast
ds took 11 days -current one returned to peterbourgh
ds2 took nearly 3 weeks - current one returned to peterbrough

DD's was her first adult one and came back within a week over the May bank holiday, so holdup is not due to it being first adult one.

I’ve renewed 3 online this year (including 2 first adult ones) and all were back within a week.
