Ours was like that too- I also found it very odd! Not a massive deal most of the time but you lose the atmosphere a little. Also at major embarkation ports like Barcelona they shut down the whole ship for muster which was annoying when you're not boarding.
Hope you're having a good time! |

Really hope you enjoy your holiday. Let us know what you think when you get back. We went with them last year and will never book with them again. What ship are you on? Some of their ships are beautiful, we just don't like their attitude towards the British passengers. We also hardly went into any scheduled ports on our cruise so we felt cheated as we couldn't do the things we wanted on our holiday.

We are on the Preziosa, probably first and last. Travelling with a baby and 2 year old. No cots, has to ask 4 times for them and then they wouldn’t give us one as said we couldn’t have 2 in our room (we bought 1 of our own). Also the ship shuts down for muster at each port which is super annoying as it’s usually when we need to feed the kids. Most people we have come across are super rude and have a very self entitled opinion... oh well. Only day 3 so let’s see if they all get off in Rotterdam 😂

Oh dear hope you are at least enjoying the ports. MSC was a first and last time for us as well. How is the food? It wasn't good at all for us but I don't know if we just got really unlucky as others have said its fine. The buffet was way better than the MDR.
Are the rude passengers British? We had a real problem on ours with these super rude Italian teenagers. They would physically push you out of the way to get to a drinks machine in the buffet, I found it really intimidating. We did meet a lovely British couple though who we are still friends with on Facebook so not all bad lol! |

Yes your description sums up MSC, the Preziosa is one of their smaller ships, we found the entertainment rubbish. They have no respect for the British it is all about the Spanish and Italians. We are sticking to the English speaking cruise lines now like P&O, Princess RC and Celebrity. MSC have so many sales with travel agents I guess this is why they have no manners. Enjoy your holiday and just chalk it up to experience. Its a good job you took a travel cot with you as one of your children wouldn't have had a bed. I bet they won't listen to you and don't care either.

No the brits have been fab and there’s defo an element of ‘we stick together’ when you see them and speak to them. The ones we’ve met have been first time MSC and aren’t enjoying it either.
Had a run in with a rude cowbag in the lift who tutted and me, rolled her eyes and said I was ridiculous for bringing the children. I wasn’t in the best of moods and she sadly picked a bad time. She got told in no uncertain terms that ive paid for them, they have the same rights to be here as you do and if you don’t like it get out of the lift and walk! The staff we’ve come across have been great and made a huge fuss over the kids, but they are super cute, who could blame them 😂😂😂 Only eaten at the buffet as this suites our needs but it’s the worse buffet I’ve had on a cruise ship. |

Sorry you aren’t having such a great time. We sailed P&O recently with our two 9 month old twin grandsons (and their parents!). No problem with putting two travel cots in the cabin and they also provided a steriliser, baby food and formula milk. Their free night nursery was fantastic and allowed us to have lovely ‘peaceful’ evening meals.
Princess has recently stopped allowing two travel cots in inside cabins. We’re sailing with MSC from Genoa to Rio in November, our expectations are declining by the day! |

Good I'm glad you told that nasty old cow!
We also found that on our MSC cruise- as soon as you heard a British voice you had to chat with them in solidarity haha. And probably have a moan together about the cruise! Do they have the special made on board mozzarella in the buffet? That was the best thing on the Meraviglia haha. I ended up just eating bread, mozzarella and pesto every night. |
