Airport hotel at SFO

We've decided to stay the night at the airport as it'll be about 9pm local time so about 5am uk time and we will be shattered.

Any recommendations please?

Also, we are wanting a nice hotel in SF preferable with free car parking.
We stayed in Union Sq last time so fancy Fishermans Wharfe this time.

Can't help with airport hotel, sorry. However, wanted to let you know that the Holiday Inn Fisherman's Wharf was a really nice hotel. We stayed there in Feb 07, the parking was free there. It was really well located with everything within walking distance. Would recommend a stay there

There's a nice holiday inn at the airport and on fishermens wharf there's a holiday inn near a nice night club (blue martini) and a holiday inn express just down the road, north street i think

We stayed at the HI Fisherman's Wharf and will be doing so again next Easter when we go. It's a nice enough hotel with pool, in a great location within walking distance of the piers, ferries to Alcatraz and just around the corner from the cable cars

Will be seeing what's recommended on here for the airport hotel since we'll probably be staying there overnight when we fly in since we're travelling to Lake Tahoe and it's a 4 hour drive up to the mountains

We stayed at the Vagabond Inn close to the airport when we went in 2006 - see the last bit of our trip report in my sig below for photos - and are planning to stay there again in November. It's easy to find and there is a GREAT restaurant next door called the Elephant Bar which would be ideal for a meal when you arrive. You also get a good free breakfast at the Vagabond for the following morning so you won't need to go looking for food on your first morning.

If you check my thread on this page Califonia here we come...- we've used Hotwire to get the Radisson Fishermans Wharf for a really good price. I'd also recommend the Holiday Inn as we've stayed there before.
