Quick cancelling Disney question

Hi hoping for some reassurance here... please.
Due to go to WDW in October ... flight separate and paid n full so no real option to cancel.
If boarders still closed so flights get cancelled , how close to check in date can I cancel with WDW and just lose my deposit ? Does anyone know ?
I booked through the UK site and the final balance is due in a few weeks .
ATM an sure we won’t be allowed to go , but don’t relish the loss of 5k if I pay the balance then cancel too late.
I am sure I read somewhere it was 8 days ?
Any help much appreciated

Ok just spoke to a CM at Disney ... got through instantly no wait at all.
Very helpful, she told me they are not extending anyone’s final balance date but ... if we need to cancel for any reason at all at anytime right up to check in day we can and receive a FULL REFUND ... DEPOSIT AND ALL.
All refund taking a max of 21 days ...
Very reassuring if our VA flights get cancelled last minute ( which I can see happening ) .
Hope this helps anyone else in our position

It’s definitely taken some of my stress away about paying our final balance in 4 weeks
