If you're flying into Orlando, then definitely book an interview for during your stay. As above, if you are lucky and get it done on arrival, the interview is automatically cancelled.
I know a few people who have arrived at Orlando in the peak afternoon arrival & tried to get a GE Interview on arrival & were told it was too busy. Fair point, as in "normal times" many of us have seen just how busy the immigration hall at MCO can be. What & when the "new normal" will be is anyones guess. I've had Global Entry for a couple of years and it is breeze - you can be through immigration in under 2mins. Certainly worth the money after a 8.5hr flight when you just want to leave the airport fast. I was lucky and managed to do my enrolment interview at the US Embassy in London when they had a temporary enrolment center there. |

Can I ask for those that have this, what is the rough expense and how long does it last? When it expires do you have to do the interview again?

It's £42 for the UK background check which when you pass generates a code you use during your Global Entry Application @ $100. It lasts 5 years but for some reason depending on your approval date and your birthday you can get more time. I was approved late June 2019 but my expiry is the day of my birthday which is mid July 2024.

Don't know current wait times for renewal, mine took about 2 months and I did not have to attend anther interview This was a long time ago though. You can reapply 1 year before it expires and the add the additonal time onto the renwal.

The Trusted Traveller home page has been updated to indicate appointments will not be going ahead until Aug 10th at the earliest.
Dublin and Shannon have also been added to the official list of Enrollment On Arrival airports too in the latest email update for those waiting for interview. |
